Example question types:

  • Adnan thinks that the answer to 186 ÷ 4 = 46 r2. Chad thinks that the answer to 186 ÷ 4 = 46.2. Are they both correct? Explain your answer.
  • Which calculation gives the largest answer?
  • Here are two calculation cards, A and B. Find the difference between A and B.
  • Mo is thinking of a number. What number does Mo get when he divides his number by 4?
  • Find the missing numbers in the calculation.
  • The number in the middle of the pyramid is calculated by adding up the two bottom numbers and dividing by the top number. The triangle is rotated so that the 4 is now at the top. What is the new number in the middle?

  • Write true or false next to each statement. Explain your reasons for each decision.
  • Find the missing numbers in the calculation.
  • One hundred and sixty eight students go on a trip. There must be an adult for every eight students. How many adults must go on the trip?
  • 147 students go on a camping trip. There are 84 boys. Boys’ tents sleep 6 people. Girls’ tents sleep 7 people. How many tents do they need in total?
  • Fill in the missing numbers in the calculation.

3 digit by 1 digit short division worksheets

In these nine worksheets children will practice short division (division by a single-digit number) with no remainder (ie the answer is a whole number). The dividend in all these questions is a 3-digit number.
