This resource pack includes four consonant blends worksheets. There’s a selection of activities to practise comprehension skills, handwriting, spelling and letter formation.
‘mp’ words
This blending consonants worksheet has four sentences, each missing a word which features the letters ‘mp’.
Each sentence has an image, and three ‘mp’ words, such as lamp, ramp and lump, and children need to use their comprehension skills to correctly choose which of the three words completes the sentence.
‘l’ words
This blending consonants worksheet has five images of words that feature a consonant followed by an ‘l’.
Each word features a missing letter. Students need to correctly use the letters ‘p’, ‘u’, ‘l’, ‘o’ and ‘a’ to spell out the words in full.
‘nt’ words
This blending consonants worksheet features a long string of letters. This hides several ‘nt’ words: sent, bent, mint, hunt and went.
Children need to find the words, then write them out themselves to practise their handwriting.
‘r’ words
This blending consonants worksheet has six images that need to be matched to words, all of which feature a consonant followed by the letter ‘r’.
These are: crab, drip, frog, drop, drum and tram.
