KS2
Years 3-6
With SMSC and a broad and balanced curriculum firmly at the centre of the current education agenda, it’s important that children are given the time and opportunity to discuss and consider the underlying values which are important to themselves and others.
This lesson demonstrates how children can engage with a range of different values by creating pop-up reflection spaces for their peers to use. It’s an ideal way of promoting empathy and community cohesion, and of providing child-friendly reflection zones for classrooms which have limited space.
What they’ll learn
- Explore values that are common to people of all faiths and none
- Reflect on the importance of values in our own lives
- Create a reflective experience for other children to participate in
