Thinking about where people go on holiday and why can develop children’s geographical knowledge, skills and understanding. This lesson aims to develop learning about how choice of holiday destination can be linked to the physical and human characteristics of a particular locality.
Prior to the lesson you will need to source images of potential destinations for different types of holiday (eg skiing in Mayerhofen, historical sightseeing in Rome, sun and sand in Benidorm, dolphin spotting in Newquay).
Note that in terms of scale of study, these are European destinations and you could change this to focus on holidays in the UK or at a world level.
