What will students see and do?
Experience a classroom with a bird’s-eye view of London and spend 30 minutes up high in one of the London Eye’s 32 pods!
Depending on the learning outcomes of your visit, you may like to download the London Eye’s free, easy-to-deliver creative Pod Plans to help engage and inspire students during their visit.
Students will locate and categorise London’s main physical and human features into north, south, east and west compass positions.
They will be asked to analyse the impact of London’s architecture on its environment, culture, and tourism industry and understand and compare the impact of great artists, architects, and designers throughout history.
During their time in the pod, students will immerse themselves in the capital, seeking out the landmarks, exploring the Thames, and using data to evaluate the purposes of the different buildings in London’s skyline. All while 135 metres above the River Thames!

Teaching resources provided
The London Eye offers free ‘Pod Plans’, which teachers can download and share with students to complete during their London Eye experience. The resources are specifically designed to support the KS2 and KS3 curriculum in history, geography, PSHE, art, and more.
Created for use in the classroom prior to arriving at the London Eye, there are also lesson plans to prepare and excite students for their visit. Again, these are available for KS2/3 and have different activities to engage students. Topics include ‘Exploring the Thames’ (KS2 geography) and ‘London then and now’ (KS3 history and geography).
With three hours’ worth of content for before and after an educational visit to the London Eye, these activities truly engage students while on their trip and help them learn more about the capital, its history, and its landmarks – all in line with the curriculum.
