What will students see and do?
Invite your students into a classroom full of history and mystery…
At this uniquely thrilling attraction, students will explore 1,000 years of history as they experience interactive shows delivered by a cast of live actors with state-of-the-art special effects, scenes and rides.
Students will join the Jester as they descend into the Dungeon via the medieval lift, before exploring Whitechapel Labyrinth, The Courtroom and more, as well as discovering the stories of the likes of Guy Fawkes and Jack the Ripper.
How does the trip link to the curriculum?
Delve into the capital’s perilous past with a visit to The London Dungeon, where students will grow in confidence, improve their communication, and develop their curiosity – all crucial skills for history, English and drama – as they analyse sinister historical sources and experience immersive live storytelling.
The exciting walk-through experience will introduce your students to society and life in key moments of London’s perilous past, including the thwarted Gunpowder Plot, a visit from the Plague Doctor in 1665, and the wrathful reign of Henry VIII.
Learning outcomes include:
History (KS3, age 12–14) – identifying significant events in London’s darkest history; exploring crime and punishment in Britain between 1485 and the late 19th century through live, immersive storytelling, told by mischievous characters such as Guy Fawkes and Jack the Ripper; making sensory connections; engaging with historical concepts like ‘change’ and ‘continuity’; and analysing gruesome historical sources.
English and Drama (KS3/4, age 12–16) – exploring stories based on actual historic events, identifying the features and impact of immersive storytelling, and experiencing a range of dramatic techniques and performance elements that bring history to life.
Beyond the curriculum – experiencing culture, the arts and heritage, and developing teamwork and communication skills.

Travel arrangements
Waterloo is the closest station (tube and train) to the London Dungeon and is about five minutes away, walking. The London Dungeon is located in Zone 1 and is well connected by Bakerloo line (brown), Jubilee line (grey), Northern line (black) and Waterloo and City line (turquoise). Exit the station following signs for the South Bank.
Embankment, Charing Cross and Westminster are also within easy walking distance of the London Dungeon. There are also many London buses that drop you within walking distance of the attraction.
If bringing a group by coach, you are welcome to book a complimentary coach-parking bay. You have 20 minutes to drop off and 20 minutes to pick up your group.
