What will students see and do?
As a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and British Canoeing training centre, South Cerney Outdoor at Cotswold Water Park is a residential centre that offers an excellent opportunity for having fun and learning valuable skills.
It is located in Gloucestershire, by a 47-acre lake of crystal clear water and on the banks of the River Churn, and has been labelled a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
The centre aims to reconnect people with the outdoors, themselves and each other by ensuring they have an engaging experience under its passionate instructors’ guidance.
The site offers a range of adventure activities to do in the Cotswolds using high-quality resources and equipment, including archery, tunnelling, team-building challenges, orienteering, stand up paddleboarding and bushcraft.
These can be presented as themed visits, such as a stone-age day where students design and build a Flintstones-style buggy, learn to light a fire like a caveman and practise their hunting skills using primitive weapons.
Since the site is licensed by the Adventurous Activities Licensing Service (AALS), you can rest assured that all staff are highly qualified and capable of training participants in RYA sailing and windsurfing, as well as British Canoeing paddlesports in canoes and kayaks.
