What will students see and do?
SkiTeam4 is a tour operator based in Bristol, England, that focuses on providing unbeatable ski trips for schools. It is the only tour company that has a headquarters in the French Alps and a fully staffed office in Innsbruck, enabling it to contract the best hotels available in the skiing market and build special relationships with its suppliers (since the staff see and speak to them every day).
This, combined with ST4’s total dedication to offering the highest level of customer service, means it is in the best position to offer your students the perfect skiing experience.
The company can arrange travel to 21 ski areas in Austria, 15 in Italy, two in Andorra, two in France, two in Spain and one in Greece. Each destination lists its kilometres of piste, ski range, number of lifts, ski runs, snowmaking coverage and closest glacier.
ST4 also selects the best and safest routes, even when it costs more. Whenever possible, it routes its parties for as long as possible through France because traffic is considerably lighter, journeys are more comfortable and temperatures are better (usually several degrees warmer than Germany), making weather-related breakdowns less likely.
How does the trip link to the curriculum?
SkiTeam4 is an Assured Member of the School Travel Forum and a Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) Quality Badge holder, meaning you can be assured of its quality.
However, criteria laid down by external bodies are only a starting point according to ST4. From its inception, it has operated to the very highest standards in the United Kingdom and gone the extra mile to ensure that only the best is good enough. Students will come away from a ski trip with newfound confidence, motivation to keep active and lifelong memories.
Trips can also be adapted to link to the curriculum further through trips to interesting and historic attractions near the ski resorts. Some examples include:
• Salzburg: Hohensalzburg Castle, one of Europe’s largest medieval castles, dating back to 1077; Mozart’s birthplace and museum; various cathedrals, theatres and visual arts galleries.
• Innsbruck: Medieval buildings of the Old Town; Hofburg Imperial Palace; and Helblinghaus with its rococo facade.
• Verona/Lake Garda: Casa di Giulietta (Juliet’s House) and The Arena, a vast Roman amphitheatre seating more than 30,000 people.
