What will students see and do?
Primary and secondary students can get to grips with Shakespeare with Lively Action workshops from Shakespeare’s Globe.
Workshops can take place at Shakespeare’s Globe on London’s Bankside, or in your school.
These interactive workshops, led by expert Globe Education Practitioners, are completely tailored to the play, key stage and learning objectives of your choice, and support your curriculum objectives – whether you’re introducing young minds to Shakespeare’s stories, encountering a play for the first time, or revising for exams.
Shakespeare’s words were written to be performed, so Lively Action workshops get students on their feet! They’ll participate in fun, practical activities – all drawn from rehearsal-room techniques used by working actors and directors – aimed at unlocking Shakespeare’s language, characters and themes.
If your workshop takes place at Shakespeare’s Globe, your students will also get a guided tour of the iconic Globe Theatre. They’ll picture what life was like in Shakespeare’s London, and imagine the performance context of his plays in our reconstruction of Shakespeare’s theatre.
How does the trip link to the curriculum?
There are various workshops available that link to the National Curriculum for English, drama and history. From A Level and GCSE Study Days to Lively Action workshops that can be tailored to schools’ desired learning objectives, there is a vast offering to support students’ in-classroom learning and development.

These CPDs include takeaway CPD packs for teachers to help enhance their teaching in the classroom.
