What will students see and do?
RSPB Loch Leven in Kinross, Scotland is a wildlife haven and a great place to learn about nature. It encompasses wetland, woodland and loch.
In spring and summer, visitors can experience the sights and sounds of swooping swallows, sky-dancing lapwings and darting dragonflies. Autumn and winter see the return of thousands of migrating geese and the spectacular white-tailed eagle.
Visiting students can find out about these species’ life cycles and adaptations for survival through the RSPB’s range of workshops and conservation programmes.
If that’s not enough, there are binoculars and Wild Challenge rucksacks for hire from the visitor centre, and children can get to know the wildlife here by taking part in seasonal nature bingo.
In spring and summer, you can hire a pond dipping kit, and bug hunting kits are available all year.
