What will students see and do?
Enjoy a full day out and explore the five-mile safari drive, which is the longest in the UK and home to everything from cheeky baboons to a magnificent lion pride.
On the foot safari, brand-new Bear Country takes centre stage, before you get to explore the Tiger Trail and Nature Walk, then head to the rides and play areas before watching an animal display.
Whether you are a school teacher looking to bring your class for a fun, educational day out near Liverpool or wanting a visit to your school in person or over a live stream, or a home educator searching for that something a little bit different, Knowsley Safari has something for everyone.
There are a range of educational activities for schools, including workshops and guided tours, delivered by expert safari educators who help bring learning to life for pupils.
How does the trip link to the curriculum?
Education is at the heart of Knowsley Safari’s programmes, which allow children to learn outside the classroom about nature and wildlife.
For EYFS groups, children will cover science, learning about animals, habitats, adaptations, and camouflage. They’ll also learn about numbers by counting and will touch on English with phonics.
Key Stage 1 pupils will cover science with a focus on classification, habitats, diet, and adaptations; maths, including addition and subtraction; and English by looking at adjectives and phonics.
At Key Stage 2, pupils will cover science by looking at endangered animals and technology, habitats, diets and adaptation.
