What will students see and do?
In2action is an award-winning leisure activities provider to the global leisure industry and educational sector, with the aim of providing students with unique adventure and activity courses that focus on enjoyment, education, and self-development.
Shenley Lane is one of In2action’s three stimulating and diverse learning sites. Set in 90 acres of beautiful grounds, there are large grass areas, woodland zones and indoor spaces, where students can enjoy a full range of exciting instructor-led activities.
It’s the perfect opportunity for both pupils and teachers to discover new talents, overcome personal challenges and share exciting new experiences, so pupils can grow and learn outside of the classroom.
In2action can develop a tailor-made programme of activities that perfectly suit your individual pupils’ needs and abilities, as well as organise the group accommodation and meals for the duration of your trip.
The activities include sporty classics like climbing, aeroball, archery, hoverboard for kids, go-kart, mini-golf, dance classes, body zorbs, canoe games, walks in hiking areas, low ropes, swimming lessons and water games; as well as problem-solving challenges such as practical lessons on how to survive in the wild, buggy building, crate challenges, den building and decorating, raft building, escape rooms and mysterious missions.
How does the trip link to the curriculum?
In2action Shenley Lane focuses on personal development, with each activity designed to assist with the bolstering of different skills and abilities, all within a secure environment and running in parallel with the national curriculum. These include:
• Active learning in activity zones, where children are encouraged to be active and interactive through engaging activities, whilst giving them an opportunity to develop their physical abilities.
• Self-confidence and self-awareness, where students learn about measured risk-taking, their qualities/abilities in a new environment, and how it feels to push their own boundaries.
• Problem-solving skills and lateral thinking, where children work through different processes to find a solution for a range of challenges using a new way of thinking.
• Teamwork and communication, where pupils are encouraged to work together to constructively achieve success in different elements of activities, all while learning to respect others’ ideas and opinions.
• Nature and environmental learning, where students gain an understanding of how their behaviour affects the environment and the surroundings that they live in.
• Learning a new skill, where children develop competence in new abilities as well as improving on existing ones.
• Swimming pool activities, where children experience a fun, novel experience, and develop their confidence in the water.
