What will students see and do?
Set in the heart of the beautiful Surrey countryside, Godstone Farm offers a brilliant, fun, interactive and educational farm experience. Its schools programme has been specifically designed to complement early years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 subjects that are covered in the classroom, mixed in with a whole heap of fun.
When booking your visit you will be able to select up to four fun hands-on activities designed to allow students to learn and develop a range of skills.
You can learn about the farm’s small animals in the ‘Meet the animal’ session, meet and feed the cheeky pigs, hunt for minibeasts in a beautiful minibeast area, look at and classify seeds in the new garden area, or learn to contrast the difference between snakes and reptiles.
Godstone’s structured school visits include the following:
- Entrance to the farm for the whole day.
- A morning of outside activities with one of the farm team.
- Free time in the afternoon to explore the farm and the wonderful outdoor play area.
Visiting groups can bring one free adult per five children / one free adult for any 1:1 children. There is free parking, including ample coach/mini-bus parking, and a picnic area for lunch.
How does the trip link to the curriculum?
Each of Godstone Farm’s sessions have been designed to encompass and enhance the curriculum whilst allowing children to have a unique hands-on experience. If you are focusing on a particular topic and would like to receive guidance on to how to tailor your visit to fit this, you can contact the farm team and they will be happy to help.
