What will students see and do?
School residential trips are adventures that your students will remember for a long time. They allow your pupils to spend quality time together, experience independence and learn a whole new set of skills. If you’re looking for the ideal way to support classroom learning, outdoor adventure trips might be just the thing.
Taking your class out of their normal environment will help them to grow. That’s why a trip to one of Girlguiding UK’s adventure centres is a great idea for your next school trip.
Set in beautiful Sussex in the south east of England, Blackland Farm welcomes thousands of guests a year who come to learn, have fun and make memories.
The centre provide countless fantastic activities. Whether you stay for an activity day or plan a longer trip, there’s plenty to do. Activities include:
Abseiling
Bouldering
Giant Jenga
Grass Sledding
High Ropes
Zip Wire
With so much to choose from, you can be sure that your trip won’t contain a single dull moment.
How does the trip link to the curriculum?
Blackland Farm is the perfect place for your students to supplement the learning they do in the classroom. Learning outside the classroom can help them to develop a whole different skillset, including key life skills such as communication, confidence, and safety outdoors.
The activities are all designed to aid learning in areas such as self-belief, environmental awareness, and problem-solving. Here are some key things your students will work on at Blackland:
Teamwork
Overcoming fears and worries
Interpersonal relationships
‘Leaving no trace’ in natural settings
Confidence in learning
Safety outside the classroom
All activities are integrated into learning and development at KS2-3 of the national curriculum. They also fulfil the ten key outcomes as specified by the English Outdoor Council. Blackland also offers a curriculum enrichment programme.
