What will students see and do?
Eaton Vale Activity Centre is a leading provider of outdoor learning experiences and educational visits in Norfolk.
Set on 13 acres of countryside, the centre is conveniently located just a few miles from the centre of Norwich. This Learning Outside the Classroom approved centre offers a range of exciting school trip ideas to meet Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 curriculums.
Children can have a go at hitting a bullseye on the archery target or improving their map skills with an orienteering course. From climbing and hiking to learning to fire a catapult and using campfire cooking equipment in the woods, students will be challenged to broaden their horizons.
Eaton Vale also offers a range of fun team building activities that will encourage pupils to learn the importance of communication skills.
For an additional cost, your group could go off-site and spend a full day at the Norfolk Broads for boat trips along the water. If you fancy a trip to the woods instead, head to Thetford Forest for an extended session along the area’s mountain bike trails.
Looking for other places to visit near Norwich? The River Yare is just a short trip away, and Eaton Vale offers a three-hour river trip for children.
How does the trip link to the curriculum?
Camping in Norfolk at Eaton Vale offers students an exciting opportunity for outdoor play and learning. As well as catering for many of the sports in the PE curriculum, Eaton Vale provides a range of confidence-building activities for kids. For example, students can go on an adventure following scavenger hunt clues, learn how to master hitting an air rifle target, or head out to the go-kart track for a friendly competition.
Meanwhile, engaging team building exercises will teach students effective communication skills, as well as the importance of trust and planning. From canoeing in the Norfolk Broads and enjoying Thetford Forest walks to learning how to shoot with an archery bow, the centre’s hands-on outdoor activities for kids will challenge pupils to push themselves both mentally and physically.
