What will students see and do?
Set on 35 acres of lovely Suffolk countryside, the award-winning Easton Farm Park provides fun and engaging farm trips for schools.
This nationally accredited Farms for Schools site is an excellent place for students to learn about traditional farming through hands-on activities and animal experiences.
Easton Farm Park offers plenty of outdoor learning activities for kids, including sessions where children will learn how to milk a cow and the basics of caring for baby chicks.
Pupils will also have the chance to meet a Suffolk Punch Horse and discover how these amazing animals were used in farming before tractors were invented.
Through the farm’s Lunch Detectives activity, students can delve into the relationship between food and farming by analysing the contents of an average lunch box. Meanwhile, signing up for the lamb feeding course will allow kids to interact with and learn more about lambs and sheep.
The farm park is also home to rare breed cattle, goats, rabbits, pigs and more. Call the site for expert school trip ideas for your students.
How does the trip link to the curriculum?
Visit Suffolk’s Easton Farm Park to offer students an educational visit that will stay with them for a lifetime. From pond dipping to minibeast hunts, children will be given the chance to explore nature and become experts on creepy crawlies through an insect identifier.
Pupils will also experience what it’s like to work on a farm in Suffolk, with opportunities for engaging with farm animals, including holding a chick, hugging a bunny or milking a cow by hand.
Outdoor activities for kids such as these can be tailored to suit the national curriculum for Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3 or Key Stage 4 students. Easton’s farm visits are Learning Outside the Classroom certified.
