What will students see and do?
A visit to Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Trevor Basin, near Wrexham in Wales, can help pupils learn about local history, engineering, geography and science.
Known as the “stream in the sky”, Pontcysyllte Aqueduct (pronounced Pont–ker-sulth-teh) is an amazing feat of engineering – you can choose to walk across it or travel by boat. You can also visit the Trevor Basin Visitor Centre and look at models, videos and information boards before visiting the gift shop.
This site, run by the Canal & River Trust, holds a quality badge from the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom and offers a number of primary workshops for school visitors.
