Bewl Water Outdoor Centre

What will students see and do?

The Education People is a one-stop shop for education services, supporting the full age range from early years to young adults.

It aims to improve children’s learning, wellbeing and development in Kent and beyond. One of its educational sites is Bewl Water Outdoor Centre, an adventure centre for water-based and rock climbing activities. It is situated along the largest inland body of water in the South East, offering 800 acres of lake and countryside for outdoor learning.

The site has a team of qualified outdoor instructors ready to deliver a variety of adventurous activities to all levels of experience. These activities include dinghy sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking, stand up paddleboarding, mountain biking, rock climbing, team-building challenges, obstacle courses and orienteering.

Participants can even earn qualifications in watersports with the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and the British Canoe Union.

Teaching resources provided

The Education People offers a range of interactive and engaging e-learning courses to help teachers educate a range of ages, from early years to post 16. These courses are written by the company’s internal experts and created by its professional development team with the objective of improving teachers’ subject knowledge, refreshing existing skills and enabling them to perform their roles to the best of their abilities. As such, The Education People is continually increasing the selection available, aiming to cater for a wide variety of staff in early years settings, schools and colleges.

Some of the most popular courses are Basic Phonics Skills for Teaching Assistants (CPD UK Accredited Course), Developing Fluency in Multiplication Facts, Early Years Safeguarding for Childminders, Enhancing Family Involvement in Children’s Learning, Effective Formative Assessments, Effective Questioning for Teaching Assistants (CPD UK Accredited Course), and Reading Moderation in the Primary School.

These courses are accessible from PC, laptop, tablet or mobile; competitively priced; and dyslexic friendly, as you can customise the colour scheme to improve readability. Some of the courses also come with downloadable resources so you have information all in one place. In addition, The Education People are able to create bespoke online learning modules to meet your needs as part of its Create and Design service. The courses are interactive, engaging and easy for delegates to access in their own time.
