30 Second Briefing

West Midlands Safari Park has been welcoming schools and educational groups for over 50 years, offering hands-on, curriculum-linked activities – enhanced by the state-of-the-art Safari Academy.

The park’s mission is to nurture and inspire future generations, fostering a lifelong passion for the natural world!

1. Safari Drive

The four-mile safari brings visitors up close with some of the most magnificent animals on earth, including rhinos, lions, giraffes, tigers, and elephants.

For an enhanced experience, school groups can include a ‘Safari Ranger’* on their visit. The ranger joins the coach and provides fascinating facts about the animals seen along the way.

2. Safari Walk

There’s plenty to explore on foot in the Safari Walk, where visitors can encounter penguins, free-flying bats, marine species, reptiles, lorikeets, and more in the Discovery Trail.

The new African Walking Trail offers sightings of African elephants, giraffes, wild dogs, and white rhinos. Stop by the new viewing areas, Tiger Tropics and Lion Ridge, to see these amazing big cats on foot for the first time.

The African Village is also a must-see, with its playful lemurs and meerkats.

3. Discovery sessions

The park offers a range of curriculum-linked sessions* that can be added to any visit. These sessions incorporate small animals and artefacts to complement school themes or topics and cater to students from early years through to further education.

4. Outdoor learning

With the Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) Quality Badge, West Midlands Safari Park provides a unique outdoor learning environment.

The outdoor classroom seats up to 30 pupils and is surrounded by a range of smaller mammal species, making it ideal for immersive learning experiences.

5. Extra fun

During the summer season, schools can upgrade their tickets to include ride wristbands* for the Adventure Theme Park!

Thrill-seekers can plummet 30 metres on Venom Tower Drop or brave the mighty Kong, while younger children and SEN groups can enjoy the multi-sensory Explorers’ Play Park, featuring the Park’s explorer mascots, Eddie and Eliza.

Keep an eye on upcoming special events such as the popular Santa Safari* – a magical Christmas experience, perfect for younger guests!

School groups save over 60% compared to standard day tickets – pre-book your next school trip in advance here or get in touch to find out more.

*Optional upgrade.
