School children taking part in Create Day '25

This annual Royal Ballet and Opera event is a FREE day of singing, dancing and design that brings together hundreds of KS2 classrooms across England in a LIVE mass participation performance celebrating the UN Rights of the Child.

Led by dancers and singers from the Royal Ballet and Royal Opera, the programme includes resources that are aligned to the curriculum and have been developed in consultation with UNICEF UK’s Rights Respecting Schools Award.

What you need to know

  • Create Day (8 July) – students in your classroom join thousands of children and Royal Ballet and Opera artists to perform a modern song and dance celebrating the UN Rights of the Child.
  • Six prep lessons – lead your students through six hours of prep classes (2x dance, 2x singing, 2x design) supported by our free lesson plans and resources.
  • Twilight intro webinar – teachers prepare for the day by attending a FREE online intro session where RBO’s award-winning trainers will take you through what’s involved step by step (multiple dates to choose from).

Why sign up?

  • The online event, prep lessons and the intro webinar sessions are all FREE.
  • Teachers and their students will gain artform-specific skills and knowledge.
  • You don’t have to be a specialist in dancing, singing or design!
  • Our resources for this project are all aligned to the curriculum and focus on the UN rights of children.
