Blow away the cobwebs this February as Active Wellbeing gives you the nudge to budge – ditch the doomscrolling, knock-off the Netflix, and step off the sofa.
February might be the shortest month of the year, but it can be the one to make small changes to kick-start your year. Over 50,000 members of the civil service and public sector have taken part in the annual physical activity and wellbeing campaign, the largest in the UK, so this is your opportunity to join them.
While Active Wellbeing takes place throughout February, the benefits of participation can last long beyond the 28 days. 94% of participants said Active Wellbeing motivated them to be more active and value their own wellbeing.
How to get involved
If you’re looking for ideas on how to get active, check out the Active Wellbeing homepage and the CSSC social pages for inspiration throughout February. Each week will see a new theme, with something for everyone.
All it takes is small steps to make a big change – a lunchtime walk, after-work yoga, Sunday swim or something more adventurous!
Through Active Wellbeing’s Around-the-World challenge there’s ample opportunity to find something you enjoy. Whether returning to an old passion or taking up something new, all activity counts towards your challenge total.

Working together in your team of up to 10 people, you can take on the Around-the-World challenge, join up as a group with friends or join a group with others from across the country.
With your team formed, it’s time to get active, with great prizes on offer for taking part in the Around-the-World challenge. Prizes on offer include vouchers for shops like Decathlon and Halfords, giving you the chance to level-up on your fitness journey.
Last year we saw winners use these to assist with their winter training, new hiking shoes and even a new bicycle!
Active Wellbeing aims to inspire members of the civil service and public sector to move more and get active in a bid to improve their overall wellbeing.
For the second year in a row, participants will take part in the Around-the-World challenge, where teams will work together to go around the world as quickly as possible, with every activity counting towards their team’s total.
