Enter the world-leading technology showcase for young people…
Completely free and entirely online, students up to 18 years old can enter a project in
Coolest Projects Global on their own or as part of a team before 11 May 2022.
Share what your students have made with code
Now in its 10th year, this world-leading technology showcase celebrates young people and what they create with code.
Through Coolest Projects Global, students can earn free limited-edition swag and receive personalised feedback about their creations. It’s a unique opportunity for your students to get creative, have fun, and celebrate ingenuity.
From idea to reality: the benefits of taking part
Young people who participate in Coolest Projects practise and develop their skills in idea generation, project design, coding, presentation, and more!
Creating with technology can be truly empowering for young people – whether that’s creating a project in Scratch, designing a game, or trying out physical computing. All skill and experience levels are encouraged at Coolest Projects, from beginner to advanced coders and everyone in between.
Free resources to support your students’ Coolest Projects journey
As an education charity, we provide
free online resources to help your students design and create projects with technology.
Why not make use of the
250+ free,
step-by-step project guides for learning coding and digital making skills that your students can use to find help and inspiration.
You can also access our

- Design and create
- Test and debug
- Present and register
Get inspired
Last year, nearly 1600 young people took part from 47 countries around the world.
Students showcased all kinds of projects, including an earthquake early warning device, an animation made from Scratch about a young person’s daily life, an interactive platformer game, and a website about cybersecurity. What will your students be inspired to do?
Supporting girls with coding
Over the past 10 years of Coolest Projects events, girls who code often give feedback about the encouraging Coolest Projects community.
“You weren’t competing against each other in the way that you want [other creators] to fail. You got to really meet other competitors and admire the work they put into their projects … Coolest Projects was the most welcoming science fair I’ve ever participated in.” Parisa, USA
“It’s thanks to CoderDojo and Coolest Projects that I’ve been able to build an amazing network of friends, and together we’re ready to take on the world.” Laura, Romania
We know from
our research on coding for girls that many young women do not see computing-related subjects as an option for their future career.
A variety of factors are likely to be responsible, including feeling like they don’t belong in the subject or its community, and a lack of sustained encouragement. With a little inspiration from you, who knows what your students can achieve!
“Being able to know that I can code what I’ve made and bring it to life — the thought of that is really exciting.” Avye, UK
