Real Comprehension from Plazoom is a comprehensive reading programme for Years 1-6, designed to develop skills in inference and retrieval while encouraging thematic analysis and text comparison.

The programme includes 54 original texts – fiction, non-fiction, and poetry – created by published children’s authors.

Each text is age-appropriate, thematically linked, and fully annotated to support teaching. Real Comprehension uses close-reading and guided reading techniques, along with fully resourced teaching sequences, to help students of all abilities build a deeper understanding of texts.
