Intended for learners transitioning from KS3 to the new GCSE science specifications (the first exams for which are due in summer 2018)

Objectives: Over three lessons, students revise ideas about photosynthesis and light and explore the relationship between the two.
Lesson 1 Students revisit ideas about photosynthesis and the dispersion of light through a prism. They will recap on ideas about how we seen colour and apply this to why plants are green.
Lesson 2 Students are introduced to how grow lights enhance plant growth and consider their respective advantages and disadvantages using data. The skills of planning an investigation are revised as students plan their own investigation into the use of grow lights.
Lesson 3 Students focus on the skills of analysing graphs and presenting data, exploring what makes a good analysis and applying this to data relating to the use of grow lights.
