Paper 1: Explorations in creative reading and writing
AQA English Language Paper 1 tests students’ ability to read and analyse one fiction text. They are also required to produce a piece of creative writing, using a stimulus to support.

Paper 2: Writers’ viewpoints and perspectives
AQA English Language Paper 2 tests students’ ability to read and analyse two non-fiction texts, often from contrasting periods in time. They’re also required to produce a piece of non-fiction writing.
