Repetition is a key concept in early mathematics. Learning to recognise and continue repeating patterns is a vital skill for KS1 pupils.

This resource features five separate patterns for children to complete, each with a unique sequence of shapes and colours. For example, pupils might encounter a pattern such as:

blue square, orange circle, green triangle, orange circle, blue square

The worksheet provides opportunities to work with patterns ranging from two to five shapes. The worksheet gradually increases the level of challenge, engaging children with different levels of ability.
