This free play script download contains ten one-page scenes for early readers or English language learners. You can use these scripts in a variety of ways:
- Encourage reluctant readers. These fun scenes can help students who struggle with reading aloud because the simple dialogue is engaging. Because they are scenes for two players, children can partner up and take turns with the dialogue.
- Engage ELL students. The scripts use easy, conversational dialogue that mimics various everyday situations. Students can practise using a new language interactively.
- Introduce young actors to dialogue. Working in pairs, beginning acting students can practice articulation, vocal projection and characterisation.
- Promote creative thinking. Each short scene depicts a situation between two characters. Students could create scenes that happened just before or just after the scenarios or even create their own short plays based on them.
There are also step-by-step instructions in the download for using the scripts with your students, discussion questions, and two extension activities.
