This one-page editable GCSE physics equation sheet sets all the equations you need for OCR Gateway GCSE Physics (9-1). It includes equations expressed in algebra.
Students need to remember some of these equations and the units they are measured in. They also need to be able to re-arrange them too.
For other equations, students need to be familiar with them and able to select the right equation. They’ll need to remember the units and be able to rearrange them.
Equations in bold type are only applicable to the higher tier.
Examples of included GCSE physics equations
- density (kg/m3) = mass (kg)/volume (m3)
- distance travelled (m) = speed (m/s) x time (s)
- acceleration (m/s2) = change in velocity (m/s)/time (s)
- change in thermal energy (J) = mass (kg) x specific heat capacity (J/kg°C) x change in temperature (°C)
- thermal energy for a change in state (J) = mass (kg) x specific latent heat (J/kg)
- pressure (Pa) x volume (m3) = constant (for a given mass of gas and at a constant temperature)
