At Bradwell’s coastal outdoor education centre, students can take part in team-building activities, like a high ropes course, bridge building and raft building, as well as watersport activities, such as dinghy sailing and boat trips. They can also take a ride in a Canadian canoe or test their skills at off-road bikes.
Students will enjoy days out in Essex with plenty of coastal learning activities in the sheltered tidal water off the River Blackwater Estuary. The site offers outdoor adventure activities through residential trips and day trips. Educational visits are suitable for primary school trips as well as secondary and college trips.

Facilities on-site
The residential centre’s first-floor accommodation is fully accessible by lift. A specialist accessible bedroom with a connecting carers room is also available. En suite rooms for staff are available.
The Pewet safari tent village is located in the grounds and is available from May to September. The tent village can accommodate 14-45, excluding group leaders, in large bunkhouse-style frame tents with hard-standing floors. Residents of the tent village will also have access to a large marquee for games or other activities.
Camping options are available for small groups or large groups. Tents can be provided if needed. Toilet and shower facilities for campers are provided in the main residential building. Additional facilities include:
– Large and small classrooms

– Lounge with TV and DVD player
– Dining room
– Drying room for wet clothing
– Tea and coffee facilities
A catering service is available for all residential groups of up to 62 in the main building.
Catering can also be provided for day groups, meetings and conferences in the main dining room or a large marquee.

Fully catered residential trips from £74 per person, with free places for leaders.
Activity day prices from £38 per person. Add a hot lunch for £6 per person.
