What will students see and do?
The Cobnor Activities Centre is located in Chichester, near to the Solent and English Channel. It’s about 45 minutes east of Southampton and just under two hours south of London.
For kids, the following activities are on offer:
– sailing
– canoeing
– kayaking
– raft building
– cycling
– archery
– low ropes
– climbing wall
– aeroball
– bush craft
– beachcombing
These are just some of the adventure activities on offer, and all will teach pupils valuable skills such as teamwork and problem-solving, while boosting their self-confidence. Students will bond with their classmates while working on skills that can be used in the real world.
Pupils will need to communicate in order to build rafts; work together to steer kayaks in the right direction and stay afloat; work as a team in order to sail a boat in the water.
Kids bunk in cabins or tents, providing an opportunity for classes to bond over the course of a multi-day trip. Best of all, kids can enjoy time on a beautiful lake in an area recognised for its outstanding natural beauty.
How does the trip link to the curriculum?
The main benefit for students on this trip is the chance to gain outdoor learning experience that will increase their problem-solving skills and self-confidence.
You may have done problem-solving in the classroom, but a trip like this gets students solving problems in the real world. An activities centre trip encourages students to act on their gut instincts and get involved in different scenarios.
This trip is also a chance for students to practise craft, art and design techniques.
Arguably most important of all, this trip will help develop students’ mental skills, including problem-solving, teamwork, communication and confidence, as well as their physical development. These will all help them to succeed in the real world.
School trips allow students to develop and improve these skills and achieve their personal growth goals.
An activities centre trip like this will help make your students stronger, both physically and mentally.
