Why 2041?
This refers to the 2041 Foundation – an organisation that was set up by explorer Robert Swan to engage and inspire young people to protect and preserve this last great wilderness on Earth so that it remains a natural reserve devoted to peace and science. 2041 is the year which the Antarctic Treaty can be renegotiated.

Both the KS1 and KS2 learning packs takes children to the Antarctic so they can learn more about its history and tales of adventure, ambition, scientific discovery and hope.
