EYFS science lesson: the mystery egg

Help EYFS children to develop a variety of skills, including listening, speaking and self-regulation, by introducing a mysterious egg to your classroom and using it as a jumping-off point for learning about animals that lay eggs.

KS2 maths lesson: decide, assess, back it up

‘DAB’ (or ‘decide, assess, back it up) is an idea that can be used in a variety of subjects as it supports reasoning and explanations. It’s a scaffolding technique that gives children the confidence to both orally rehearse and evidence their explanation clearly.

Y5/6 RE lesson: ‘I have a dream”

This lesson introduces children to the life and work of Martin Luther King Jr. There is a close focus on his famous “I have a dream” speech and time for children to reflect on its meaning and what they dream of for our world today.
