KS1, KS2, KS3, KS4
Years 1-11
This PDF resource is a catalogue of must-have fiction books which reflect the diversity within classrooms and teach young people about issues of equality and diversity.
Its aim is to provide educators with a list of some of the best books to use in order to begin embedding equality throughout your education provision.
Some of these books focus specifically on an issue of equality and diversity while others incorporate these themes as a secondary element within the story.
They allow young people to explore the idea of difference and ensure they see themselves represented in literature.
The three age sections are ‘early years and KS1’, ‘KS2′ and KS3 & 4’, and each is divided into the following subsections:
- Disability
- Religion and belief
- LGBT
- Race and ethnicity
- Gender equality
