Just how do historians find out about the past? It can be challenging to demonstrate this in a concrete, practical way, but add some broken pieces of pottery, costume jewellery and soil to a coordinates grid and you’ll make the connections between maths and history come alive.
This lesson gives children a great opportunity to have a hands-on experience, allowing them to develop their knowledge and skills in a memorable way.
It has been designed to accompany a topic based around the Saxons, but is easily adaptable for other historical periods.
