Use this basic maths test, which features 90 simple addition questions, to assess your pupils’ skills.
How to use this basic maths test
Explain to children that there are 90 questions for them to complete. Assure them the questions will all be very familiar. There are no reading requirements, meaning all children can access this test.
Photocopy the test and give out copies. Have a stopwatch to time the test and make sure that every child understands what they need to do.
Once you’ve marked the tests, use the results to spot gaps in children’s basic maths skills and plan accordingly.
